    VFW Ladies Auxiliary will have a fish fry Friday at the VFW building at 18615 Alabama 127. Dine in or carry out. Call (256) 233-4941.
  • Church Bulletin 7/3
    o Patriotic celebration. Blackburn Road Baptist Church will host a Freedom Celebration from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at 17836 Blackburn Road in Athens on Sunday, July 5. Past and present members of all branches of military service will be recognized. Hamburgers, hot dogs, watermelon served. Games, moon bounce and obstacle course for children. Volleyball, horseshoes, watermelon seed spitting contest and picking and grinning. Free. Bring lawn chairs. For information, call (256) 233-8502.

    NAACP fish fry
    Limestone NAACP ACT-SO will have a fish fry today from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Lincoln Bridgeforth Park. Fish plates are $7.00 each, proceeds to assist our local ACT-SO winners with their expenses to New York City July 8-12 where they will compete nationally.
