• Gospel singing. Full Gospel Tabernacle on Seven Mile Post Road will hold a singing at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 10 featuring The Crossmans. Everyone is welcome.
• Men’s breakfast. Elkmont Church of God of Prophecy at 23031 Sandlin Road will host a men’s breakfast at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 10 featuring Phil Pruitt of Bessemer. For more information, call (256) 431-3885.

• Women’s conference. Word of Faith Missionary Baptist Church will hold its second annual women’s conference at 6 p.m. May 16, 11 a.m. May 17 and at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. May 18. Speakers Saturday include ministers Mary Gray, Martha Jones, Mattie Lewis and Barbara Clemmons; at 11 on Sunday Brenda Jones and at 2:30 p.m., missionary Elizabeth Raybon and Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Choir of Hillsboro.
• Spring carnival. Southside Baptist Church will have a carnival from noon-3 p.m. Saturday, May 17 at the corner of U.S. 31 and Roy Long Road. Free food, prizes, games for kids.
• Gospel singing. Clear Creek, Piney Creek, the Jackson Family, Victory Singers and others will sing beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 17, at Holt Road Baptist Church. Bring lawn chairs and come prepared to eat. For more information, call (256) 232-6216 or (256) 232-1719.
• Community Day. Greenbrier Baptist Church will hold its annual Community Day from 10 a.m.-2p.m. Saturday, May 17. • Youth Day. Greater Hope Missionary Baptist Church at 310 Madison Street will host its annual youth Day at 11 a.m. May 18. Speaker will be Kendrick Epps with songs by New Life S.D.A. Youth Choir and Humble Hands Praise Team.
• Ministries’ Day. St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church at 18049 N. Jefferson St. will hold Missionaries’ Day at 2:30 p.m. Jonathan White of David’s Temple M.B. Church in Tanner and his congregation will host. For information, call Carolyn Daniels at (256) 233-7798.
• Boston butt, rib sale. Elkmont Church of God of Prophecy at 23031 Sandlin Road will cook Boston butts and ribs to be picked up from 8 a.m.-noon May 26.
