MONDAY
Relay for Life lock up
Athens will sponsor a lock up Monday to raise money for Relay for Life. Donate $5 and have someone locked up. They have to pay $20 or raise $20 to be released. Call Janet Parris at (256) 233-8737 for more information.

Jewelry sale
The Athens-Limestone Hospital education department will hold a jewelry sale from 8:30 a.m-6:30 p.m. Monday. Proceeds go to the Hospital Auxiliary.

Used book sale
Friends of Athens-Limestone Public Library will hold a used book sale from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday.

WEDNESDAY
Papa John’s helps Relay for Life
Papa John’s Pizza is donating 10 percent of all sales on Wednesday to Team St. Paul, a Relay for Life team for the American Cancer Society.

Firefighters breakfast

Care givers night out

Spelling bee
The Athens-Limestone County Learn-to-Read Council will hold its 13th annual Corporate Spelling Bee at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 29, in the Athens High School cafeteria. Free admission and refreshments for spectators. For more information, call (256) 230-3050.

Fashion Show tickets on sale now
Dogwood Festival Fashion Show tickets are now on sale at the RSVP office, Keep Athens-Limestone Beautiful Office or All About Me. The fashion show will be at noon Tuesday, April 29. Tickets are $25 per person. For more information, call (256) 232-7207.

Head Start recruitment
Head Start of Limestone County is currently taking applications for enrollment at both Tanner and Elkton Road locations. Children must be age 4 by Sept. 2 and be a legal resident of Madison or Limestone counties. Services are free to those families who meet the income guideline for 2008. • NARFE. National Active and Retired Federal Employees Chapter 1480 will meet at the Alabama Veterans Museum and Archives on Pryor Street at 9 a.m. today.
