AHS Veterans Day

Athens High School invites the public to a Veterans Day assembly at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6, in the south gymnasium. A reception will follow on the JROTC rifle range.

Respite night

Caregivers Night Out will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday at Isom's Chapel United Methodist Church, 16230 Mooresville Road. Please make reservations by calling RSVP Office at (256) 232-7207 no later than noon, Thursday.

VFW Auxiliary fish fry

The VFW Ladies Auxiliary will have a fish fry from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Friday. Dine in or carry out. The building is at 18615 Alabama 127. Call (256) 233-4941 or 233-1067.

Veterans Day Parade

The second annual Veterans Day Parade begins at 11 a.m. Saturday and follows the Christmas parade route from Athens High School and through the downtown square to Hometown Grocery. Lineup will be from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Registration to be in the parade ends Wednesday. Call (256) 374-2073 to register.
