Anniversary: Slatens celebrate 60 years

Raymond and Mildred Slaten of Athens celebrated their 60th anniversary July 29 at their daughter Sherry Perry’s home in Decatur.

The celebration was hosted by their daughters, Karen Sprague and Sherry Perry.

Mr. and Mrs. Slaten were married July 26, 1952, in Iuka, Miss.

They have four children; daughters, Karen Sprague and husband Tommy of Athens and Sherry Perry and husband Tom of Decatur; and sons, Danny Slaten and wife Amy of Somerville and Kevin Slaten and wife Tammy of Athens; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The couple celebrated earlier this year with a five-day Caribbean cruise with 18 family members.
