Eight World War II veterans attended the June Coffee Call event at the Alabama Veterans Museum and Archives. Those in attendance included: Alice Rogers, 89, a World War II cadet nurse (seated); Clifford Willford, 89, Army (standing); Robert Thompson, 91, Army infantry, 1941-1945; Cal Bonner, 88, Army; John Fielding, 86, U.S. Navy Reserve 1944-1946; J. D. Swanner, 86, Navy; and Herman Swanner, 86. Veteran Jack Hunter was also present. He was in the Army Air Corps and one of four recipients of the French Legion Award earlier this year.
