West Limestone junior offensive lineman Dakota Siniard was named to the 4A All-State football team, the Alabama Sports Writers Association announced Sunday. Siniard was an honorable mention selection as one of the top 10 offensive lineman in Class 4A this season.
The junior anchored an offensive line at West Limestone that averaged 242 yards rushing per game. Siniard helped the offense run for more than 300 yards four times this season, including a season-high 442 rushing yards against Priceville.
A starter in all 11 games, Siniard led the team with 100 pancake blocks, more than 25 percent of the team’s total pancake blocks for the season.
A two-way player, Siniard recorded 32 tackles and a sack as a defensive lineman for the Wildcats. The 6-3, 245-pound tackle returns as one of the state’s best offensive lineman in Class 4A for 2014.
Editor’s Note: Siniard was inadvertently left out of the All-State story in Sunday’s News Courier.
