NORTHWEST REGIONAL: Parker leads Athens entering the fourth quarter

HANCEVILLE — Parker has its largest lead of the game entering the fourth quarter of the 5A Boys Northwest Regional Final. Athens trails 33-23 with one quarter to play. Trey Potts picked up his fourth foul midway through the third quarter.

Parker held Athens to its lowest point totals of the season at halftime. The Thundering Herd led Athens 19-17 at the break.

Using suffocating defense, Parker forced seven turnovers and held Athens to 37 percent shooting from the field in the first half.

Giddy Potts had 11 points for Athens. Parker’s leading scorer was Marquell Oliver with 10 points.
