Six local players selected to All-State team

— Six Limestone County basketball players were selected to the Alabama Sports Writers Association All-State teams, announced today. Clements’ Daneshia “Lou Lou” Malone was once again selected to the first team in Class 3A, while Tanners’ Sydney Houston was selected to the first team in Class 2A after helping Tanner reach the semifinals for the second time in three years.

Fresh off another state championship, Greg Maclin was selected to the first team for Tanner in Class 2A. In 5A, Athens’ Nathanial “Giddy” Potts was selected to the second team for the second consecutive year. East Limestone junior Jordon Gandy was an honorable mention selection in 5A, while Tanner senior Jace Haggermaker was an honorable mention selection in 2A.
