By Jonathan Deal

ELKMONT — East Limestone leads West Limestone 31-24 at halftime of the girls semifinal of the Limestone County Tournament

East led 9-0 before West Limestone got on board nearly three minutes into the game. After the Indians took a 14-3 lead, Rainey Tyler led West back with some sharp shooting from the 3-point line.

Tyler’s pair of threes pulled West within one possession, but that was as close as they would come in the first half as East Limestone took a 31-24 lead into the break.

Brennance Crabtree hit a three just before the buzzer to give East a seven point halfitme lead.

The winner will play Tanner Saturday at 6 p.m. for the 2014 Limestone County Championship.

West Limestone won the first meeting this season 40-31. The teams will play Tuesday, Jan. 28 at West Limestone in another regular season matchup.
