West Limestone comes up a yard short

Associated Press

— Dillon Miller’s 2-point conversion run with .04 seconds remaining came up just short as Haleyville held on for a 28-27 win over West Limestone. Tyler McCormick scored from 1-yard out moments earlier to pull West within a point, but the decision to go for two failed with less than a second to play.

Haleyville scored 21 unanswered points in the second half, including a 25-yard halfback pass from Jason Self to Jeffrey Posey with 25 seconds remaining in the game.

West Limestone led 21-7 at halftime thanks to two passing touchdowns from Drew Blakely. Dillon Miller added a rushing touchdown and caught a 10-yard pass from Blakely.

West Limestone (6-3, 4-3) plays at Ardmore (6-3, 4-3) for the final regular season game next week.
