Five Athens wrestlers qualify for state

— Athens High School will have five players from its wrestling team represent the school at the state meet this weekend in Huntsville. Bolton Patton, Rob Morse, Philip Patton, Madrell Kirby and Thomas Carter qualified after winning matches at a section meet in Arab over the weekend. Philip Patton, Morse and Kirby will make their second consecutive trip to the state meet. They will wrestle their first matches at the state meet on Friday, Feb. 15, at the Von Braun Center.
