Tanner’s Cinderella season ends in Birmingham

Birmingham — After overcoming numerous hardships this season, Tanner faced an obstacle even it could not overcome Tuesday at the BJCC. Playing in the 2A girls semifinal, the Lady Rattlers saw their season end in a 52-31 loss to No. 2 PCA.

“We’re very happy to be able to participate in this final four,” said Tanner head coach Larry Green. “We did not play as I had hoped we would. But sometimes that happens. I think we were a little intimidated by the other team.”

Prattville Christian jumped out to a 19-4 halftime lead that proved too much for Tanner to overcome. PCA’s pressing defense caused problems for the Rattlers from the opening tip, resulting in 18 first half turnovers.
