American Outlaws: Locals band together to support U.S. soccer team
One of the newest official chapters is in North Alabama where U.S. supporters have banded together to form American Outlaws Huntsville.

It was a good year for Limestone County baseball. Ardmore and Athens Bible advanced to the state championship series, while Athens gave 5A runner-up Cullman all it could handle in the postseason.

The East Limestone rising senior is one of the top players in the state, scoring 39 goals for the Indians in 2014. For his near record-breaking season, Sayer is The News Courier’s Boys Soccer Player of the Year.
Williams battled injury to earn Limestone MVP honors
East Limestone’s softball team may not have reached the playoffs this season, but that doesn’t mean the Indians don’t have talent on their roster. Look no further than sophomore Brittany Williams, who was voted MVP, by Limestone County School softball coaches last month.
“She is a hitting machine. She’s been a .350 to .380 hitter her entire career,” said East Limestone head coach Brett Nave. “She’s pretty much had a full career already, as a sophomore.”
2 Athens players on All-State soccer team
After three consecutive state championship game appearances, the Athens girls soccer team is finally getting the recognition it deserves. The AHS girls team had two players on the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Alabama All-State team.
Athens’ Riley Ridgeway and Tiffani Dunaway were the only players from a public school selected for the team, that is voted on by Alabama High School girls soccer coaches.
