 County arrests

The Limestone County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests Wednesday:

• Lewell Clayton Klavern Cowan, 45, homeless, violating terms of probation on previous conviction for negotiating a worthless negotiable instrument 

• Michael Wayne Jones, 19, of 17771 Happy Hollow Road, Lot 4, Elkmont, first-degree theft; arrested on warrant in connection with theft of car from Happy Hollow Road

• Martin Ellis Kyle, 37, of 15236 Ham Road, Athens, DUI (controlled substance)

• Jonathan Paul Legg, 22, of 24091 Bain Road, Athens, third-degree domestic violence (harassment)

• Terrilyn Amanda Mangruen, 25, of 22556 Pepper Road, Athens, negotiating a worthless negotiable instrument

• Ottis Dwane Maze, 60, of 25504 Retick Circle, Athens, public intoxication

• Gary Keith Posey, 45, of 7259 Tommy Hill Road, Anderson, tampering with evidence in connection with July 22 marijuana bust in western Limestone County

• Keith Elmo Taylor, 42, of 22369 Smith Road, Athens, bond revoked on four counts of second-degree forgery and two counts of second-degree forgery



County thefts

The Limestone County Sheriff’s Department reported the following thefts Wednesday:

• Hewlett-Packard brand laptop computer, Sony brand Xbox 360 game console, seven Xbox games and 12 DVDs, total $1,780, stolen July 24 or 25 in 24000 block Thatch Road 

• Concrete mixer, 22 sets of scaffolding, wheel barrow, two shovels and 10 outriggers for scaffolding, total $7,010, stolen July 24 or 25 from 27000 block Tulip Lane



City arrests

The Athens Police Department reported the following arrests Wednesday:

•Tanya Elaine Garner, 38, of 1866 Shellbrook Drive, Huntsville, violating terms of probation on previous conviction for driving under the influence

• Cheri J. Twitty, 38, of 705 Second St., Athens, possession of drug paraphernalia

• April Hope Chapman, 21, of 17475 Harwell Road, Athens, court-directed arrest for no proof of insurance



City thefts

The Athens Police Department reported the following thefts Wednesday:

• TracFone cellphone, valued at $1 stolen between July 23 and 24 at Budget Inn

• Mongoose brand bicycle, valued at $100 stolen July 25 at the Fifth Avenue Apartments

• $100 cash, $500 from a drink machine, two snack machines with a total value of $1,000 and drink machine valued at $500 stolen between July 26 and 27 in 500 block of Swan Drive
