County arrests

Limestone County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests Tuesday:

• Bennie Dortch Jr., 54, of 1713 Old Moulton Road, Decatur, violated probation on previous conviction for driving under the influence

• Joel Dwight Gooch Jr., 27, of 16789 Poplar Creek Road, Athens, violated probation on previous conviction for third-degree domestic violence (harassment)

• Marlon Anthony James II, 25, of 4955 Century Drive, Apt. 411-B, Huntsville, second-degree criminal mischief and third-degree burglary

• James Houston Sims, 37, of 25663 Bethel Road, Elkmont, first-degree manufacturing a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia

• Melissa Ann Sims, 35, of 29790 Ardmore Ave., Ardmore, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance

County thefts

Limestone County Sheriff’s Department reported the following thefts Tuesday:

• ATHENS – Fuse box, no value listed, burglarized between Oct. 1 and Nov. 3 in 12000 block Ripley Road

• HARVEST – PlayStation 3 gaming system, eight PlayStation games and Logitech headset, total value $780, burglarized Nov. 3 in 16000 block Wellhouse Drive

• HARVEST – Tools, no value listed, taken during breaking and entering of a vehicle between Nov. 4 and 5 in 14000 block Hunter Road

• ATHENS – Merlin brand GPS, valued at $200, taken during breaking and entering of a vehicle between Nov. 4 and 5 in 24000 block Woodmont Way

• ATHENS – Checkbook and Marc brand sunglasses, total value $300, taken during breaking and entering of a vehicle between Nov. 4 and 5 in 24000 block Craft Road

• ATHENS – Baseball cards, air conditioner, CB radio, swords and Army knives, total value $710, taken during breaking and entering of a vehicle between Oct. 2 and Nov. 5 in 14000 block Peek Drive

• ELKMONT – Air compressor, welder, two bird cages, three bicycles, Christmas decorations and tools, total value $1,900,  burglarized between Nov. 2 and 5 in 14000 block Section Line Road

• ATHENS – GPS, pair of knee-high boots and CDs, total value $450, taken during breaking and entering of a vehicle Nov. 5 from 15000 block Capstone Lane

• ATHENS – Dormitory fridge, microwave, antique table and chandelier, total value $550, burglarized between Nov. 4 and 5 on U.S. 72 West

• ATHENS – Sanyo brand 32-inch TV, Craftsman large tool chest with tools, two bicycles, four old push mowers, lawnmower trailer 4-by-8-foot trailer, and flag case with medals, total value $3,990, burglarized between Oct. 5 and Nov. 5 in 13000 block Zhener Road

• ELKMONT – Snapper brand push mower, valued at $300, stolen between Oct. 30 and Nov. 5 from 22000 block Tammy Sue Way

City arrests

Athens Police Department reported the following arrests Tuesday:

• Stephanie Shena Cooley, 29, of 810 N. Clinton St., Athens, third-degree theft

• Doyle Alan Cosby, 44, of 18502 Huntsville-Browns Ferry Road, Athens, arrest for Limestone County

City thefts

Athens Police Department reported the following thefts Tuesday:

• Driver’s license, Redstone Federal Credit Union debit card, driver’s side window of a Volvo S60, JVC brand CD player, amp, 12-inch subwoofer, Bowie knife and sliding window lock on Ford F250, total value $745, taken during breaking and entering of a vehicle between Nov. 4 and 5 in 14000 block Maryanna Drive

• JVC brand Radio/TV, back window of at Toyota Tacoma and P226 40 S&W with rail on frame, total value $1,512, taken during breaking and entering of a vehicle between Nov. 4 and 5 in 24000 block Dee Drive

• Door and doorframe sustained damage estimated at $200 during criminal mischief between Nov. 4 and 5 in 2100 block Stanford Street

• EverStart battery, valued at $93, stolen between Nov. 4 and 5 from 15000 block Alabama 251 South

• Sunn Retro bicycle and BF Goodrich bicycle, total vale $310, stolen between Oct. 21 and Nov. 5 from 300 block Vine Street

• Memphis Audio brand amplifier and large subwoofer box containing two 15-inch subwoofers, valued at $1,200, taken during breaking and entering of white GMC Yukon SUV Nov. 5 in 24000 block Dee Drive

• Medication, valued at $100, stolen Nov. 5 from 200 block Cascade Drive

• Ford Taurus, valued at $3,000, stolen Nov. 5 from 800 block Westmoreland Avenue

• Brick mailbox sustained $1,000 damage in criminal mischief and damage to private property Nov. 6 in 1500 block Levert Avenue
