County arrests

The Limestone County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests Thursday:

• Austin Gerard Brooks, 21, of 304 Welch Drive, Athens, violated probation on previous convictions for first-degree possession of marijuana and distribution of a controlled substance (Limestone County Community Corrections Program)

• Jonathon Stanley McClendon, 30, of 12827 Snake Road, Athens, second-degree theft and driving with a suspended license (city offense)

• John Christopher Salvia, 42, of 25929 Oak Grove Road, Elkmont, third-degree domestic violence (harassment) and third-degree criminal mischief

• Christopher Dale Smith Jr., 28, of 904 Fifth Ave. SE, Decatur, failing to pay child support

• Charles Daniel Springer, 25, of 13774 Robinson Lane, Elkmont, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia

County thefts

The Limestone County Sheriff’s Department reported no new thefts Thursday.

City arrests

The Athens Police Department reported the following arrests Thursday:

• Eric Curtis Barron, 33, of 24682 Seventh St., Ardmore, third-degree theft, probation revoked on previous conviction for driving under the influence

• Labarron Antonio Bender, 25, of 8866 U.S. 72, Madison, driving under the influence, second-degree possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance

• Rickey Levon Gilbert, 44, of 107 Hickory Street, Athens, third-degree criminal trespass

• Danny Joe McCown, 56, of 30075 Ardmore Ave., Ardmore, probation revoked on previous conviction for third-degree theft

• Tracy Davon Twitty, 21, of 705 Second St., Athens, DUI

City thefts

The Athens Police Department reported the following thefts Thursday:

• Trane heat pump unit and four large-man lawn chairs, total value $1,396, stolen between April 20 and 23 in 700 block West Pryor Street

• Eight-foot utility trailer and Alabama license plate 80UT374V, total value $20, stolen between Oct. 1, 2013, and April 23 in 18300 block Edgewood Road

• Four cases of Budweiser and three cases of Bud Light beer, total value $126, stolen April 23 at Wal-Mart
