As The Small Town Turns

As The Small Town Turns
  • Chapter 8, As the Small Town Turns

Editor’s Note: As you will remember in last week’s chapter, Buck Welch threw Rock Roddenheimer out of Raquel’s house, sending him on his way in great pain. Last week’s heavy-action chapter inspired many local writers and we are proud to publish four lively runner-up chapters in this section. We chose Harriette Rost’s submission as Chapter 8, but please look inside for chapters by Cynthia Boris, K.M. Lewis, Shelley Merrill and Carol Schwarzenbach.

  • Chapter 5, As the Small Town Turns

Editor’s note: This is Chapter 5 of The News Courier serialized novel, “As The Small Town Turns.” The staff wrote the first chapter and asked readers to submit following chapters. Chapter 5 is by Jennifer Adair. Ms. Adair’s submission was the only one The News Courier received last week. However, the excellent quality of Ms. Adair’s chapter is in keeping with our novel’s Chapter 3, which she also wrote. Please keep the submissions coming, or else the staff will have to sit down a write another chapter and you just don’t know where we could take the story. As you will remember from Chapter 4, our hero, Buck Welch, made a date with our heroine Raquel Traubenkraut Roddenheimer, to attend a concert on the Athens square.

  • Chapter Three

Editor’s note: This is Chapter 3 of The News Courier serialized novel, “As The Small Town Turns.” The staff wrote the first chapter and asked readers to submit following chapters. As you will remember from Chapter 2, our heroine Raquel Traubenkraut Roddenheimer, remembers back to long-forgotten high school days when she first met Buck Welch and his best friend, Robert Tom Rolle.
