From staff reports
Wayne Petty of the financial services firm Edward Jones in Athens recently won the firm's Jack Phelan Award for his exceptional achievement in building client relationships.
Petty was one of 300 of the firm's 12,000 financial advisors to receive the Jack Phelan award.
"It's truly an honor to receive recognition for building relationships with those clients we serve," said Petty. "And it's quite inspirational to receive an award named after a firm legend such as Jack Phelan who was dedicated to individual investors and understood each investor's unique financial goals."
The award is named after Jack Phelan, who, after joining the firm in 1950, became one of the firm's first "TNT" brokers, traveling the countryside Tuesday through Thursday, bringing investment advice to rural investors.
Edward Jones provides financial services for individual investors in the United States and, through its affiliate, in Canada. Every aspect of the firm's business, from the types of investment options offered to the location of branch offices, is designed to cater to individual investors in the communities in which they live and work.
