• Coat drive. The Frazier CME Church at 1108 S. Hine St. will hold its first “Helping to Keep our Brothers Warm” coat drive from 9 a.m. until noon Saturday. There will be coats of different sizes for men, women and children, drawing for a Christmas food box, Bible book markers and hot dogs. All are free. A special-marked coat will win a $10 gift card. The public is invited.

• Coat and blanket drive. Christ Way Church is currently accepting coats and blankets between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at its Little Blessings Child Development Center and Mission Thrift Store at 17474 U.S. 72 in Athens. New or clean blankets and coats for men, women and children will be given away at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church’s dinner for the homeless. Contact: 256-233-2700.

• A Meal and a Prayer. Victorious Outreach Mobile Ministry is sponsoring the second A Meal and a Prayer event to satisfy the body and edify the spirit. It is from 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Brownsferry Community Center in Athens. More information:

• Marty Raybon. A former member of the group Shenandoah, Marty Raybon, will sing and preach at 11 a.m. Sunday at Truth Baptist Church. More information: 256-233-2315.

• Journey of Mary and Joseph. First Christian Church will present a Christmas pageant, “The Journey of Mary and Joseph,” from 3-4:30 p.m. Sunday on the west side of the Athens Square, proceeding to the church at Market and Madison streets. There will be a trumpeter, singers and refreshments. The public is invited.
