Child abuse prevention mini-conference

The Limestone County District Attorney’s Office and the Athens-Limestone Children’s Advocacy Center are hosting the first Child Abuse Prevention and Investigation mini-conference Dec. 3-4 at the Event Center, 114 West Pryor St.,  Athens. Registration is $15 for each day or $25 for both. Jim Holler, nationally known speaker on child abuse investigations and Internet crimes, is the featured speaker. VFW Turkey shoots

VFW will host  two more turkey shoots at 9 a.m. Nov. 30, and Dec. 7, weather permitting. More information: Fred 256-233-0213.

MEETINGS

• Narcotics Anonymous. The Courage to Change Narcotics Anonymous closed meetings are ongoing and held at 6:30 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays. Open meeting is held at 6:30 on Fridays. All are at 11309 Ripley Road in Athens. Contact:Michael 256-962-1831.
