Positive Look

The Positive Look support group for the blind and visually impaired, family and friends will hold their Christmas party from 10 a.m. until noon today at the Athens Recreation Center. Bring something to go with ham and turkey dressing. Music by Golden Age Band. Contact: Wynell Reynolds 256-232-1493.

SATURDAY

Community Christmas Dinner

The second annual Community Christmas Dinner will be from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday at the at the Vietnam Veterans of America building, 17915 W. Elm St. Public invited. Food donations are needed to include turkey, ham, salads and vegetable side dishes. Contact: Roxanne 256-374-2073.

MONDAY

D.A.V. open

Disabled American Veterans building on Airport Road off Alabama 127 will be open at 5 p.m. as usual on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. Contact: Danny Gilliam 256-771-3225.

Heart of Athens calendars

Heart of Athens calendars that feature paintings by local artists of many community landmarks are available for $18 each at U.G. White’s and the ASU Center for Lifelong Learning, both on the downtown Square. They can be purchased online at http://www.athensspirit/blogspot.com. Calendar sales benefit the nonprofit Spirit of Athens and their work in downtown revitalization.

Limestone Ledger is a list of events hosted by nonprofit organizations. Items must be submitted in writing and are listed up to six days to include the day of the event.
