— • Free clothes. Saint Mark Primitive Baptist Church at 740 Sanderfer Road in Athens will hold a free clothes giveaway at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 6.

• Women Day. The Greater Hope Missionary Baptist Church at 14065 Lucas Ferry Road in Athens will celebrate Women Day at 11 a.m. Sunday, April 7. Irma Johnson, associate minister of Shiloh M.B. Church in Decatur is the guest speaker. Greater Hope’s women choir will provide music.

• Trumpet performance. Staff Sgt. Jason Sanders, who plays trumpet for the U.S. Army band “Pershing’s Own” in Washington, D.C., will perform at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, April 7, at Piney Grove Baptist Church, 28430 Pinedale Road, near Ardmore.

• Summer program. David’s Temple Missionary Baptist Church at 11273 Stewart Road in Tanner is taking registrations for its Operation Timothy II Summer Program for children ages 5-13. The program will be from 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Cost is $200 per child. Contact: Dorothy Shoulders at 256-232-8035.

• Ladies Jubilee. The 18th annual Ladies Jubilee will be held from 9 a.m. until noon Saturday, April 13, at Lebanon Community Church, 13500 Lebanon Road in Elkmont. There is no charge and ladies of all ages are invited. The keynote speaker is Myra King.

• Clothes closet. Round Island Baptist Church at 14790 Browns Ferry Road in Athens will operate a clothes closet from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 13, and every second Saturday of upcoming months.

• Anniversary celebration. Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church at 759 Pine Grove Road in Harvest invites the public to attend the third anniversary celebration for Pastor C. Jermaine Turner and first lady Antoinette S. Turner on Sunday, April 14. There will be two services, at11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

    Crape Myrtle pageant

    The 14th annual Miss/Master Crape Myrtle Festival Pageant is Saturday at the Ardmore, Tennessee Annex Building. Competition begins at 1 p.m. for girls, infant through age 19, and boys, infant through age 5. More information: 256-278-5524.

    The Athens Arts League Summer Art Stroll is 4-8 p.m. Friday on the downtown Limestone County Courthouse lawn. The free, family-friendly event will include music and 25 artists including painters, ceramicists, jewelry makers, mixed media and textile artists.
