Coffee Call

The Alabama Veterans Museum and Archives Coffee Call is 8-9 a.m. Saturday at 100 W. Pryor St. Mary Stratford, Mary Byrd and Ruth Fleming are sponsors.

Beans & Rice giveaway

There will be a Beans and Rice Giveaway Day, from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at Tanner United Methodist Church, 19607 Huntsville-Browns Ferry Road.

Turkey, Ham and Prize Shoot

Vietnam Veterans Gary Elmore Chapter 511 will hold a turkey, ham and prize shoot from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday at 17915 W.Elm St. in Athens. Shotguns and shells provided. $4 per shot. Funds used to support veterans. More information: 256-206-5399.

Senior Funfest

The Athens-Limestone Foundation for Aging Senior Funfest is 9:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Swan Creek Park by Athens High School. Ages 60 and older may attend. Event includes cake walk, football throw, horseshoes, corn hole toss, bingo, free lunch, drinks and snacks. Prizes, food and goody bags donated by local merchants.

Spring Garden Tour

Friends of Athens-Limestone Public Library Tour is 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. Tour features 11 gardens from traditional to modern. Tickets, at $20 each, are available until June 6 on The Square at Crawford's, Pablo's, Pimentos, Trinity's, Athens-Limestone Public Library and from members of Friends of the Library. Tickets available June 7 at Pablo's and the library. Funds benefit the library.

Used book sale

Friends of Athens-Limestone Public Library will hold a used book sale from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday at the library, 405 E. South St. More information: 256-232-1233.

Widner family reunion

Anyone related to the Widner family in any way is invited to the event Saturday at Ardmore First Baptist Church. Bring covered dish for a noon meal. Meat will be provided.

    The 14th annual Miss/Master Crape Myrtle Festival Pageant is Saturday at the Ardmore, Tennessee Annex Building. Competition begins at 1 p.m. for girls, infant through age 19, and boys, infant through age 5. More information: 256-278-5524.

    The Athens Arts League Summer Art Stroll is 4-8 p.m. Friday on the downtown Limestone County Courthouse lawn. The free, family-friendly event will include music and 25 artists including painters, ceramicists, jewelry makers, mixed media and textile artists.
