— • Fish & Chicken plates. Frazier C.M.E. Church, 1108 S. Hine St., Athens, will sell chicken plates and fish plates beginning at 10 a.m. Friday, July 11. Contact: 256-233-2104.

• Calvary VBS. Calvary Baptist Church, 16090 U.S. 72 West, will hold vacation Bible school from 6-8:30 p.m., through Friday, July 11. Classes for all ages. The theme is “SonTreasure Island.” Call or text at 256-431-8286 for more information or to register.

• West Highland VBS. Vacation Bible school will be 9 a.m. until noon through Friday, July 11, at West Highland Baptist Church at the corner of Hine Street and Fifth Avenue. “Discover, Decide, Defend” is the theme. Students ages 2 through grade 6 are eligible to attend. More information: 256-232-3397.

• Addiction program. First Baptist Church in Athens is holding “Jesus Time” — using Biblical principles to battle addiction — at 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays in the Family Life Center. Everyone is welcome: More information: 256-497-6446.

• First Union VBS. First Union Baptist Church at 18356 Edgewood Road will hold a “Son Treasure Island”-themed vacation Bible school 6-8:30 p.m., July 14-18, for age 4 through sixth grade. More information: Jessica 256-777-2066.

• Revival. Revival at the Creek is 7 nightly, July 14-16, at Poplar Creek Missionary Baptist Church, 16031 Poplar Creek Road in Athens. The Rev. Kenneth Owens of St. Mark Primitive Baptist Church is guest revivalist. Various community choirs will provide music ministry. The public is invited.

• Benefit. A benefit for cancer and kidney patient James Dwight Moore is Saturday, July 19, at Grace Full Gospel Church, 27267 Bain Road in Athens. Silent auction is 4-5:30 p.m. along with a hamburgers, hot dogs, pork plates and desserts for sale. Bluegrass gospel singing at 6. All donations accepted.
