Used book sale

The Friends of Athens-Limestone Public Library will hold a used book sale from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, at the library at 405 E. South St. Contact: 256-232-1233.

FRIDAY

Respite Night

Caregiver’s Night Out will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday, June 28, at Lindsay Lane Baptist Church, 1300 Lindsay Lane. Make reservations by noon Thursday, June 27, at 256-232-7207.

SATURDAY

Animal shelter yard sale

The Athens-Limestone County Animal Shelter yard sale will be held from 8 a.m. until all items are gone Saturday, June 29, at 1701 U.S. 72 East between Russell Stover and Preston’s Western Wear. Donations, with the exception of clothes, are accepted and can be dropped off at the shelter. Contact: 256-771-7889.

Haggard reunion

A reunion in the memory of Dorcie and Francis Haggard will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 29, at Joe Wheeler State Park. A covered dish is requested for lunch at 3 p.m. The day is to include games, fun and time with family. Contact: 256-233-8924.

Athens reading program

The Athens-Limestone Public Library is hosting its annual summer reading program. Register at the library, and check out the calendar of events at www.alcpl.org.  Contact the library at 256-232-1233.

Ardmore reading program

Ardmore Public Library, at 25836 Main St. in Ardmore, Tenn., will hold its summer reading program for children ages 12 and under at 10 a.m. for four successive Wednesdays — June 19 and 26 and July 3 and 10. A ventriloquist, puppet theater and super scientist will be featured. Contact: 931-427-4883.

The Athens-Limestone Seniors Organization will not meet in June or July. The next meeting is scheduled for Aug. 15.

    Athens-Limestone County Tourism Association will present Singing on the Square Concert at 6 p.m. Friday, April 18th sponsored by Champion Chevrolet. Trippin' Dixie will take the stage first. The Dixie Bluegrass Boys will follow at 7 p.m. Bring your lawn chair for a free concert.
