Donnell House preview
The Donnell House will host a preview party from 6 to 8 tonight, Nov. 15, as part of this year’s “Festival of Trees: A Civil War Christmas.” The cost is $20 per person. Tickets may be purchased at the door. The price for tours is $8 for adults and $6 for children age 12 and under. The annual STUFF-A-TRUCK food drive to benefit Limestone County Churches Involved will be held from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday at the First National Bank on the corner of Lindsay Lane and U.S. 72, and the old Kroger building parking lot on North Jefferson Street. Donors are asked to bring nonperishable food items.
Turkey shoot/chicken stew
Athens Masonic Lodge No. 16 will hold a turkey shoot and chicken stew Saturday at the Lodge on the corner of Elm Street and Lucas Ferry. Shoots are $3 each and held from 9 a.m. until noon. 4 Paws and a Book
A program dedicated to improving reading skills of children ages 5 and older, called 4 Paws and a Book will be held from 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Houston Memorial Library in Athens. Children can bring their own book or read a favorite of Miss Sophie Grey, a Yorkshire terrier, who will be present for the program. To schedule a time to read, call the library at 256-233-8770.

West Limestone Volunteer Fire Department will hold a turkey shot and goat/chicken stew at 10 a.m. Saturday at the fire department.
