— •VBS. Section Line Community Church at 14184 Section Line Road in Elkmont will hold vacation Bible school themed “Colossal Coaster World” from 6-8:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, Aug. 5-9. • Homecoming. Grace Full Gospel Church off Alabama 251 on Bain Road in Athens will hold its Homecoming at 10 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 11. Singers are In his Image Quartet and The Harvilles. Revival is at 7 nightly Aug. 12-16. Speaker is Ricky Harvilles. Contact: Clyde Carter 256-232-8563.

• Free food, clothes. Day of Love, Feed the Hungry, sponsored by Pleasant Grove CPCA at 15439 Hastings Road in Athens, will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, at Lincoln-Bridgeforth Park. There will be free food boxes, a clothing giveaway and school supplies. More information: 256-216-0660 or 233-5995.

• Silver Rose Prayer Service. Our Lady of Guadalupe Silver Rose Program of Rosary and Litany with Holy Mass for the vigil of the Feast of the Assumption will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Athens. Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Council No. 13679 is hosting the program.

• Homecoming. Mount Nebo Missionary Baptist Church at 27971 Easter Ferry Road in Lester will hold their Homecoming Service at 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 18. Minister Paul Phillips and Allen Chapel of AME Church in Skipperville will conduct the service.

• Women’s Day. Antioch Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America at 923 Brownsferry St. in Athens will hold its annual Women’s Day Program at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18. The speaker will be the Rev. Barbara Clemons of Pleasant Grove CPCA. The public is invited. Contact: 256-233-3016.

    Crape Myrtle pageant

    The 14th annual Miss/Master Crape Myrtle Festival Pageant is Saturday at the Ardmore, Tennessee Annex Building. Competition begins at 1 p.m. for girls, infant through age 19, and boys, infant through age 5. More information: 256-278-5524.

    The Athens Arts League Summer Art Stroll is 4-8 p.m. Friday on the downtown Limestone County Courthouse lawn. The free, family-friendly event will include music and 25 artists including painters, ceramicists, jewelry makers, mixed media and textile artists.
