Used book sale

The Friends of the Athens-Limestone Public Library will hold a used book sale from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Tuesday at the library, 405 E. South St. More information: 256-232-1233.

 

SATURDAY

VFW Turkey shoots

VFW will host  two more turkey shoots at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, and Saturday, Dec. 7, weather permitting. For more information, call Fred at 256-233-0213.

 

Coat giveaway

Area churches are sponsoring a coat giveaway from 9 a.m. until noon Saturday at Riddles Hall at the intersection of Ripley and Shaw roads in the Ripley-Coxey-Clements community of Limestone County.

 

SUNDAY

Holiday Home Tour

The Athens Ladies Civitan will host its third annual Holiday Home Tour from 1-5 p.m. on Dec. 1. The self-guided tour takes participants through five Athens homes decorated for the holidays. Six local caterers will provide a variety of treats to enjoy at each home. Advance tickets are $15 and available at Class Act Hair and Nail Salon, Crawford's Gifts, Pablos on Market, First National Bank (Lindsay Lane), Pam’s Home Furnishings, Pimentos, SheaLeigh’s Boutique, Smith Infinity of Huntsville, Keep Athens-Limestone Beautiful, and Trinity's gifts. Tickets are $20 day of event at each featured home. More information: 256-233-0258

Athens Christmas Parade

The 10th annual Reliance Bank Christmas Parade is Dec. 5, with a 6 p.m. start at Athens High School on U.S. 31. Float lineup begins at 3:15. The theme is A Storybook Christmas. The parade goes west along Hobbs Street, winds around the Courthouse, travels down Jefferson Street and ends at Hometown Grocery.

 

Holiday Party library fundraiser

This year’s Holiday Party fundraiser for the new Athens-Limestone Public Library will be hosted by Jim and Kristi Christopher on Dec. 6, from 6-9 p.m. Tickets are $75 per person and include a tour of their historic home, 311 N. Jefferson St., an open bar, music and heavy hors d’oeuvres. Tickets are limited to the first 200 sold and are available at the library, 405 East South St., or online, www.athenslimestone.lib.al.us.
