Veterans assistance

Active duty military and veterans needing help with claims or other information can visit the Disabled American Veterans’ mobile service office between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, in the Walmart parking lot on U.S. 72 in Athens.

Prostate cancer screening

A free prostate cancer screening will be held from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, at Madison County Health Department at 310 Max Luther Drive in Huntsville. For information about Medicare preventive services or transportation to the free screening for Limestone County residents, call Jennifer Reece 256-233-6412.

Used book sale

The Friends of Athens-Limestone Public Library will hold a used book sale from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, at the library at 405 E. South St. Contact: 256-232-1233.

Cowart summer reading

MBA awareness program

President William Cale of UNA and President Robert Glenn of ASU will present an awareness program for alumni on the Masters of Business Administration and Masters of Arts in Elementary Education degrees on the ASU campus at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, at the Center for Lifelong Learning, 121 S.
