• Jamboree. Pleasant Grove Church Family at 15439 Hastings Road in Athens will hold its Hallelujah Jamboree today. Dinner at 5 p.m. The party is from 6-8. Singers include Anointed Voices, Sacrificial Praise and many more including a special surprise guest. The public is invited.

• Candy Explosion. Soul’d Out Christian Center International-Alabama’s Candy Explosion is at 6 p.m. Thursday at The Boys & Girls Club, 1017 W. Washington St. in Athens. More information: Jennifer 256-614-3938.

• Youth Hollu-Festival. Saint Mark Primitive Baptist Church at 740 Sanderfer Road in Athens will host a festival with fun, food and games at 6 p.m. Thursday. All ages welcome.

• Pancake breakfast. Lebanon Community Church at 13500 Lebanon Road in Elkmont will hold a pancake breakfast from 6-10 a.m. Saturday. Includes a variety of pancake choices, bacon or sausage and coffee or juice. Advance tickets $4 (call Sean at 256-655-1054), day of tickets $5.

• Chicken stew. Oak Grove CME Church will hold its annual chicken stew from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday. Cost is $6 per quart.

• Singing. Grace Full Gospel Church at 27267 Bain Road in Athens will hold a singing at 6 p.m. Saturday. Singers are Friendship Quartet and The Carter Family. The public is welcome. More information: 256-232-8563.

• Quarterly singing. Oakland Church of Christ at 18111 Townsend Ford Road in Athens will hold its quarterly singing at 7 p.m. Saturday. The public is invited. More information: 256-729-8866.

• Fall revival.  New Life Church at 2314 S. Hine St. in Athens will hold its fall revival at 7 p.m. Nov. 4-6. Pastor Gary W. Battles of the Hurricane Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Huntsville is the guest preacher. Music by: St. James CPCA Mass Choir on Monday; Blackburn Chapel CPCA Mass Choir on Tuesday, Nov. 5; and the Hurricane Chapel Church Choir on Wednesday. The public is invited. • Installation services. Installation services for newly elected pastor, the Rev. Jevon D. Turner will be held at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Nov. 10 at Peace Missionary Baptist Church at 1214 Plainview Circle in Athens. Guest church and speaker at 11 a.m. service. The Rev. Earnest Williams and Mount Zion M.B. Church of Harvest are the 2:30 p.m. guest. Round Island Creek Missionary Baptist Assoc. will also take part in services.
