Easter egg hunt

Soul’d Out Christian Center International will hold its annual Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m. today at the Athens Boys & Girls Club on Washington Street. The public is invited.

MONDAY

Legislative office opens

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the site of the new local legislative delegation office, located in Suite E-4 in the College Street Center on College Street in Athens.

TUESDAY

AHS parent/student meeting

A parent/student meeting for students enrolled in ninth, 10th and 11th grades at Athens High School will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the AHS cafeteria. Registration procedures, course offerings and graduation requirements will be discussed.

SATURDAY

Benefit breakfast

The Bethel, Tenn. Lodge 194 F&AM will serve a buffet breakfast to benefit charity from 7-9 a.m. Saturday at the Lodge building. Public invited. Nonperishable food items are being collected for the food bank.

Coffee Call

Coffee Call for area veterans and spouses, and sponsored by Eugene and Jason Sanders, will be from 8-9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Alabama Veterans Museum, 100 W. Pryor St. Contacts: Sandy 256-771-7578.

Elk River cleanup

Volunteers to assist Keep Athens-Limestone Beautiful in cleaning up a land and water section of the Elk River will meet at 8 a.m.  Saturday, April 6, at a central location to be announced and then disperse to cleanup locations. Trash bags, gloves, bottled water, and lunch will be provided.  Must register in advance.  Register or information: 256-233-8728 or email KeepALBeautiful@att.net .

Rodeo queen applications

Applications are available at the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office (www.limestonesheriffrodeo.com) and Preston’s Western Wear on U.S. 72 East for the 31st annual Limestone Sheriff’s Rodeo Queen Pageant. Entry deadline is April 12 for ages 3-15 and May 3 for ages 16-26. Contact: Jennifer 256-232-0111.

Farmers scholarship

April 5 is the deadline for graduating seniors or full-time college students to apply for the Limestone County Farmers Federation  $1,000 scholarship. The student, parent, or legal guardian must be a member of the Limestone County Farmers Federation. Applications available  at ALFA Office on U.S. 72 West. MEETINGS

• Healing Hearts. The Healing Hearts Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support Group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 1, in the Education Department at Athens-Limestone Hospital and watch the video, “Footprints on Our Hearts.” Group Facebook page is Healing Hearts of Limestone County.

• AHS Class of ’56. Athens High School Class of 1956 and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, for a Dutch-treat lunch at Southern Fixings on Highway 53 near Ardmore. Contact: Dwaine 256-777-1999.

• Piecemakers Quilt Guild. The Piecemakers Quilt Guild of Athens will hold its final meeting Thursday, April 4, at First Church, 17175 Lucas Ferry Road. Social time is 6:15 p.m. and the meeting begins at 7. Jenny Doan from Missouri Star Quilt Co. will present the program. Contact: 256-233-3113.
