The Athens-Limestone Public Library will host Storytime registration today, Aug. 28. Registration for children ages 18-36 months is at 10:15 a.m., and children ages 3-5 at 11:15. Caregivers must attend classes with 18-36 month-old-children. Both classes will read stories, sing songs, play games, and do simple crafts. Storytime is a free program, but registration is required. The Red Cross and Limestone County Young Republicans will hold a blood drive from 1-6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, at the Days Inn banquet facility at 1322 U.S. 72 East in Athens.
Drop-In Storytime for babies
The Athens-Limestone Public Library will host free Drop-In Storytime for babies beginning at 10:15 a.m. Friday, Aug. 30. Drop-In Storytime includes stories, songs, rhymes and bounces and is for infants, babies, and toddlers up to 18 months old and their caregivers. No registration required. AHS pep rally
Athens High School’s annual pep rally on The Square will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, on the east side of the Limestone County Courthouse. AHS hosts Decatur at 7 p.m. at Golden Eagles Stadium.

The third annual Elkmont High School Band Car Show will be from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, at the school, 25630 Evans Ave. Registration, which admits two people, is $15 in advance and $20 on Saturday.
