Used book sale

The Friends of Athens-Limestone Public Library will hold a used book sale from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. today at the library, 405 E. South St. More information: 256-232-1233.

 

Tutor training

Blood drive

Blood drive

An American Red Cross blood drive will be held 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. Friday at the Owens Elementary School art room, 21465 Alabama 99. More information: www.redcrossblood.org or Teresa Bush 256-990-0830.

 

Vidalia onions order deadline

April 11 is the deadline to order Vidalia onions from Athens Ladies Civitan. Cost is $10 for 10 pounds of freshly dug onions from Georgia to arrive in early May. Call orders to: 256-771-7672 or 256-232-6086.

 

Rodeo queen deadline

April 11 is the deadline to submit applications for ages 3-15 for the 32nd annual Limestone Sheriff's Rodeo Queen Pageant. Deadline for ages 16-26 is May 2. Applications are available at the sheriff's office and online at www.limestonesheriffrodeo.com. Contact: Jennifer McBay 256-232-0111.

W.L. VFD egg hunt

West Limestone Volunteer Fire Department is having a Easter egg hunt Saturday from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. The fire department is located 15 miles north of Athens on Alabama 99. For more information, call Jason McMahan at  256-233-7678, or on Saturday, call 256-233-5544.

 

Plant and bake sale

Athens Garden Club annual Plant and Bake Sale is 8 a.m. until noon Saturday, April 12, at the downtown Athens Farmers Market. A variety of plants and culinary choices available. The event helps support the Athens Garden Club's scholarship fund for graduating high school seniors in Limestone County who major in horticulture, agriculture, or other related fields.
