Blood drive

An American Red Cross blood drive will be held 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday at the East Limestone High School old gymnasium, 15641 East Limestone Road.

Fish fry

The Alabama Veterans Museum fish fry fundraiser will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1917 U.S. 72 West. Advance tickets are $10 at the museum and $12 at the fish fry. Includes catfish, chicken tenders, fries, slaw, hush puppies, drinks and dessert. Carryouts available. More information: 256-771-7578.

Respite night

Caregivers Night Out will be 6-9 p.m. Friday at Lindsay Lane Baptist Church, 1300 Lindsay Lane. Make reservations by noon today, April 24, at 256-232-7207.

SATURDAY

Triad Trail Ride

The 19th annual Triad Trail Ride will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Elkmont Rural Village. Enter by the campground at 24212 Easter Ferry Road and not through the Village by the pavilion. Gates open at 8 a.m. Entry fees are $15 for adults; children 12 and under, $5; non-riders, $5. More information: 256-232-0111 or visit limestonesheriff.com.

Earth Day & Outdoor EXPO

Free event, rain or shine, for the entire family 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at Big Spring Memorial Park. Vicky “Batlady” Smith from A-Z Animals in Georgia and Big Dave Hollaway, senior naturalist at the McDowell Environmental Center, will share information on raptors, reptiles, and bats. Live animals, games, crafts, exhibitors and vendors, music, door prizes, free hot dogs and Pepsi, and lots of fun. More information: 256-233-8728 or KALBCares@gmail.com. Electronics recycling/shoe collection

Bring electronics (anything that runs on electricity or uses batteries) for recycling, and usable shoes for Shoebox Recycling for reuse. $10 fee for television sets — all other electronics accepted free. Collection are 10:a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday in Dr. Lambert's parking lot at the corner of East and Hobbs streets as part of Earth Day & Outdoor EXPO activities. Enter parking lot from Hobbs Street only.
