Church Bulletin 7/4/14

— • Greater Hope Men's Day. Greater Hope M.B. Church will have Men's Day at 11 a.m. Sunday, July 6. The Rev. Cyrus Pickett, associate minister of Rushing Springs Baptist Church in Birmingham, will be the speaker. The church is at 14065 Lucas Ferry Road.

• Grace Founders Day. Grace M.B. Church will celebrate is 15th Annual Founders Day with the theme, “See what the Lord has done,” during the 11 a.m. service on July 6. The speaker will be Charlie Holley, associate minister of Union Chapel M.B. Church in Huntsville.

• Homecoming. Little Ezekiel Missionary Baptist Church on Lindsay Road in Tanner will hold its Homecoming service at 11 a.m. Sunday, July 6. Guest church is Pure in Heart and Pastor Joe Green from Louisville, Kentucky. All former members, family and friends are invited.

• Calvary VBS. Calvary Baptist Church, 16090 U.S. 72 West, will hold vacation Bible school from 6-8:30 p.m. July 7-11. Classes are for all ages. The theme is “SonTreasure Island.” Call or text at 256-431-8286 for more information or to register.

• West Highland VBS. Vacation Bible school will be held 9 a.m. until noon July 7-11 at West Highland Baptist Church at the corner of Hine Street and Fifth Avenue. “Discover, Decide, Defend” is the theme. Students ages two through grade 6 are eligible to attend. More information: 256-232-3397.

• Addiction program. First Baptist Church in Athens is holding “Jesus Time” — using biblical principles to battle addiction — at 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays in the Family Life Center. Everyone is welcome: More information: 256-497-6446.

    Crape Myrtle pageant

    The 14th annual Miss/Master Crape Myrtle Festival Pageant is Saturday at the Ardmore, Tennessee Annex Building. Competition begins at 1 p.m. for girls, infant through age 19, and boys, infant through age 5. More information: 256-278-5524.

    The Athens Arts League Summer Art Stroll is 4-8 p.m. Friday on the downtown Limestone County Courthouse lawn. The free, family-friendly event will include music and 25 artists including painters, ceramicists, jewelry makers, mixed media and textile artists.
