Julian Newman Elementary School will hold its annual Newmantors Blood Drive from noon until 6 tonight, Sept. 6, at the school gym. The drive goal is 75 pints. Guests will be greeted, escorted, pampered and thanked by some really impressive fourth-graders.
Caregiver’s Night Out will be from 6-9 tonight, Sept. 6, at Chapel United Methodist Church, 16230 Mooresville Road in Athens.
Lodge 194 F&AM of Bethel, Tenn., will serve a buffet charity breakfast from 7-9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at the lodge building. Public invited. Nonperishable food is being collected for the food bank. Due to circumstances, it will be the last monthly breakfast served by the lodge.

Country At Its Best, a benefit concert for Scott & Jan Johnson Sheets will be from 6-8:30 p.m. Saturday at Athens-Limestone Event Center. Tickets are $10 at the door or at 256-233-7361.
