Used book sale

The Friends of Athens-Limestone Public Library will hold a used book sale from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, at the library at 405 E. South St. Contact: 256-232-1233.

WEDNESDAY

Storytime registration

The Athens-Limestone Public Library will host Storytime registration Wednesday, Aug. 28. Registration for children ages 18-36 months is at 10:15 a.m., and children ages 3-5 at 11:15. Caregivers must attend classes with 18-36 month-old-children. Both classes will read stories, sing songs, play games, and do simple crafts. Storytime is a free program, but registration is required. Blood drive

The Red Cross and Limestone County Young Republicans will hold a blood drive from 1-6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, at the Days Inn banquet facility at 1322 U.S. 72 East in Athens.

Duck and Run registration

• NARFE. National Active and Retired Federal Employees chapter 1480 will meet at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, at the Veterans Museum on Pryor Street in Athens. Meeting subject is new legislative districts and representatives. Breakfast served.  Contact: Dean Morgan 256-233-0248.

• Tea Party Patriots. The Athens/Limestone Tea Party Patriots will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, au. 29, at 100 Beaty St. Guest speaker is state Sen. Bill Holtzclaw. Public is invited. Contact: 256-777-2526.
