    The Donnell House Board of Directors will host Athens City Planner Mac Martin at 2 p.m. Sunday. Martin will speak on “Concept for the Future of Athens Middle School Campus.” The public is invited.

    Usery benefit
    A softball tournament benefit to help cover burial expenses for Melissa Usery will begin between 8 and 9 a.m. Saturday at Owens ballfield. Entry fee is $150 per team and can include five men/five women per team. Chicken plates will be available at 11 a.m. that include sides and drink. Hot dogs/hamburgers also available.     Summer Art Stroll

    An Athens Arts League Summer Art Stroll will be 4-8 p.m. Friday on the Limestone County Courthouse lawn on The Square. This is a free, family-friendly event that includes music on the lawn and 25 artists including painters, ceramicists, jewelry makers, mixed media and textile artists. More information:

    4-H Cupcake Decorating
    There will be a 4-H Cupcake Decorating Class Wednesday at the Limestone County Extension Office. The class for youth 14-18 will be from 9-11:30 a.m.; and for ages 9-13, from 1-3:30 p.m. Cost is $10 per person and each student will be provided a Wilton Decorating Kit. Call 256-232-5510 to register on a first-come, first-served basis.
