Player Of The Week

Bridges selected Crunch Player of Week

COXEY—Jamison Bridges was a little nervous heading into Friday night’s game against East Lawrence.
The junior quarterback knew what was on the line for Clements High School. He knew if the Colts picked up a win it would allow for a three-way tie in Class 2A, Region 8 and the rest would be out of his hands.

  • Cosby selected Crunch Player of the Week
Coach Laron White and his team remain undefeated after a 47-21 win against Hatton Friday night — but not without a scare.
For the first time this season, the Rattlers (9-0) went into the locker room at halftime trailing, 21-20, as the Hornets flirted with an upset of the No. 3 team in Class 2A. However that upset hope slowly faded in the second half as sophomore Tray Cosby took matters into his own hands.

  • Brandon Sanderfer is Crunch Player of the Week 10-23
Brandon Sanderfer has proven to be a pivotal part of the Clements offense this season.

  • Brazeal, Bridges co-Crunch Players of Week
There’s no doubt that Jamison Bridges loves the game of football. It’s obvious by the amount of time he puts into it.
When he gets through with classes shortly after lunch everyday, the Clements quarterback can usually be found hanging out in coach Barry Daniels’ classroom going over plays, talking about what he could have done different during the previous week’s game and sometimes even learning a new play or two. And if time allows, he’ll head into the field house to watch film, all before heading to the practice field with his team.

  • Cosby selected Crunch Player of the Week
Tray Cosby isn’t a name that has surprised people around the Tanner community lately.
His style of play on the football field and basketball court has somewhat been the talk of Tanner High School ever since he began playing in middle school. And Friday night, he proved just how stellar an athlete he is in the Rattlers 42-21 region win over Westminster Christian.

  • Ardmore’s Kilmury named Crunch Player of the Week
Owen Kilmury surprised himself with the way he’s played on numerous occasions this season.
In fact, the Ardmore junior tailback never thought he would be having such a good year.
During the past three weeks, Kilmury has been persistent for the Tigers, including his 20 carries for 85 yards in the 19-17 victory over East Limestone. And according to coach Tracy Malone, it’s that type of play that helped Kilmury separate himself in their tailback group.

  • Elkmont’s Brazeal selected Crunch Player of the Week
Dylan Brazeal has a lot of faith in his team.
With the way Elkmont battles every week, he had no doubt the Red Devils would do it again against the West Morgan Rebels Friday night.
Down 14-7 with 5:44 left in the game, he connected with David Solomon on a 33-yard pass for a touchdown. Solomon tied the game with his extra point.

  • Brandon Sanderfer is Crunch Player of the Week 9-18

  • Jamaal Bess Crunch Player of the Week
Jamaal Bess puts a lot of pressure on himself to succeed. And there’s no question that Athens Coach Allen Creasy and his staff do the same.
But Bess manages to overcome the pressure to give a stellar performance almost every time he steps on the field.
Friday night’s game against Muscle Shoals was no exception.

  • Colts’ Bachelor recognized for performance
COXEY—Seth Bachelor was a little nervous about playing in Clements home opener against West Limestone last Thursday night. It marked the first time the senior stepped on the playing field in five weeks.
For a little more than four weeks, Bachelor was out with an injury to his left index finger he sustained in a 7-on-7 camp. The final week was spent grieving for his mother, Kathy, who died in a wreck in Lawrence County.
