With the exception of the 20 years spent in the military, the city of Athens has been the home for my family .
We consider this to be our hometown and we do love it and its people.
I feel that it is time for new leadership of our city so we can perhaps avoid the inevitable results of deep debt, especially in a bad economy.
It goes without saying that the first to suffer in that situation is the city's employees and the ability to provide the services for our citizens.
We have not reached that point yet, but unless we change directions and quit spending beyond our means, that that will be the end result.
