Johnny and Donna Smith of Moulton announce the engagement of their daughter, Kayla Renae Smith of Moulton to Jonathan Alan McCrary of Athens, son of Daniel and Michelle McCrary, and Gina and Barry Jones, all of Athens.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Lavada Smith of Decatur, and Helen and Blanton Adair of Hartselle, the late Billy Hogan, and the late Kenneth Smith.

She is a 2004 graduate of Danville High School. She is employed by Lynn Layton Chevrolet as a cashier.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Bruce and Judy McCrary, Janie Moyers, and Gene and Peggy Russell, all of Athens. He is the great-grandson of Matthew and Florence Russell, Nellie Miller, and Jessie Mae Pollit.

He is a 2005 graduate of Tanner High School and a 2007 graduate of Lawson State Community College, where he received an associate’s degree in applied science. He is employed by Lynn Layton Chevrolet as a technician.

The wedding is planned for Oct. 10, 2009, at First Baptist Church of Tanner.
