Jim and Joan Brasfield of Athens announce the engagement of their daughter, Bree Anna Brasfield of Athens to Christopher Jason McCarley of Athens, son of James B. and Anna McCarley of Athens.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Charles and Joyce Andrews of Athens and the late Jimmie and Goldie Brasfield.

She is a graduate of Athens Bible School and a 2008 graduate of the University of Alabama Huntsville, where she received a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering. She is employed by AMCOM, Research, Development and Engineering Directorate as an industrial engineer.

The prospective groom is the grandson of James J. and JoAnn McCarley of Pikecreek, Texas, Laurence J. Millsaps of Huntsville, and the late Betty Ann Millsaps.

He is a graduate of Admore High School and a 2009 graduate of the University of Alabama Huntsville, where he received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.

The wedding is planned for Sept. 3, 2009, at the Old Brick Church in Mooresville.
