Elise Rebecca Hicks and Adam Timothy Clem, both of Athens, were married in a 4 p.m. ceremony June 9 at Sandals Whitehouse Jamaica under a gazebo on the beach with a Baptist minister from the resort officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Brandon and Penny Hicks of Athens. She is the granddaughter of Byron and Sarah Lemay and Allen and Ann Hicks.
The groom is the son of Timothy and Diane Clem of Athens. He is the grandson of Phillip and Marie Dorning and Annie Bell Clem and the late Mary Marie Dorning and Willis Clem.
The bride was given in marriage by her father, Brandon Hicks.
The matrons of honor were Laura Beth Thiele and Samantha Ragasa. Bridal attendants were Amanda Maher and Sarah Chambliss.
Lance Vickers served as best man. Groomsmen were Vincent Azzarello, Martin Evans and Davis Simmons.
A violinist at Sandals Whitehouse provided music.
The couple stayed in Jamaica for their honeymoon. The bride is currently attending UAB school of Medicine and living in Birmingham. The groom is currently deployed to Africa. After his deployment, the couple will reside in Surf City, N.C.
