In short, just another year for author Ace Atkins.
Once again this year the Auburn University graduate (he was a defensive end on Auburn's undefeated 1993 football team) released two novels the same month.
"Wonderland," his second novel continuing Robert B. Parker's popular series about Boston detective Spenser, was released last month, immediately becoming a top-10 bestseller.
"The Broken Places," released the same month, is his third novel featuring Quinn Colson, an Army Ranger who returns from the Middle East to take on new battles in the Deep South. His Colson series has already been optioned for a TV series. This year, his Spenser novels were also optioned for a TV series.
