Wilson completes Air Force training in Texas

Air Force Airman Joshua B. Wilson graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Wilson is a 2010 graduate of East Limestone High School.

Redus promoted to Air Force staff sergeant

Daryl E. Redus has been promoted to the rank of staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force.

Redus is an inventory journeyman assigned to the 628th Air Base Wing at Charleston Air Force Base, in Charleston, S.C, The staff sergeant has served in the military for four years.

He is the son of Sherrill Moore of Obscidian Circle, and Billy Turner of Elkton Road, both of Athens.

Redus is a 2006 graduate of East Limestone High School.

Dolan receives basic and advanced Army training

Army Pvt. Justin D. Dolan has graduated from One Station Unit Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Waynesville, Mo., where he underwent  basic military training and advanced individual training (AIT).

During basic military training, Dolan received instruction in drill and ceremony, weapons qualification, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army doctrine, history, principles and traditions.

During AIT, he completed the military police specialist course to acquire skills to provide combat area support, conduct battlefield circulation control, area security, prisoner of war operations, civilian internee operations, and law and order operations. 

Dolan performed as a team member in support of battlefield operations, installation law and order operations and security of Army resources and installations. Additional training included providing peacetime support to the military community through security of resources, crime prevention programs, and preservation of law and order.

Dolan is the son of Bridgett Browning of McKee Road in Toney.

He is a 2009 graduate of Ardmore High School.
