BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — A couple celebrating their first anniversary had nearly given up hope of finding their lost wedding band.
Rob and Dari Roden had attended Saturday's Birmingham Barons baseball game, where Rob's band went missing. The couple noticed the ring was missing around halfway through the game against the visiting Chattanooga Lookouts.
A 5-year-old boy found the ring, and turned it in to the stadium's lost-and-found collection.
The team quickly posted the photo on Facebook, and the picture was shared more than 850 times.
Dari was about to buy a replacement ring on her lunch break Monday. The ring was more than seven decades old.
"It was actually my grandfather's ring," Rob Roden told WIAT-TV. "He passed away, but my grandmother is still alive so we used his ring in the wedding."
Then she checked Facebook, and saw a photo of the ring
"It made me feel that there's still people who care in this world," Rob Roden told WBRC-TV.
