Resident objects to wreck details

Dear Editor:

I am writing to you in regards to your article on March 7, 2008 about the young man who sadly lost his precious life on Morris road in Elkmont, Alabama on March 6, 2008. I for one am disgusted at your lack of decency and inconsiderate way of stating the unproven details about the tragic and horrifying end of this young man’s life. I know the family of the person who perished in this wreck and they were emotionally disturbed that this particular statement made it to your newspaper article before they themselves were notified. Think about it. Would you want your father, mother, spouse, or children to know that you were in agony and suffering at your time of death? I sincerely doubt it!

Sincerely,

Eric Griffin

Writer feels censored

Dear Editor:

The Speaker of the House for the Alabama Silver-Haired-Legislature, Billy Adams, should be fully aware that seniors do also suffer as a result of ineffective and corrupt government at all levels, in which I do sometimes include in my articles.

I have spoken with Mr. Adams several times about the content of my articles and the purpose for writing them. Mr. Adams has never questioned the accuracy and truth-worthiness of my articles.

I know of no actions by any appropriate body of the Silver-Haired-Legislature to condemn any of my articles and I will always be available to defend the content of my articles and my right to write them.

Mr. Adams may better serve the seniors of Alabama by more constructive use of his time than trying to impede another member’s freedom of speech.

Sincerely,

Jerry Hill
