Councilman ignored letters
Dear Editor:
The following letter has been sent to Councilman Harold Wales repeatedly during the last three months. He has not replied to any of my correspondence nor made any attempt to address my concerns. I have also written to Mayor Dan Williams.
“As the Sixth Street drainage project appears to be coming to a close, I have not heard from anyone about the repair to my gate which was damaged on Sept. 26, 2007, by the construction crew or the damage done to my tree which occurred shortly thereafter. Please let me know if you need corroborating photos or statements from witnesses. As my councilman, I look forward to hearing back from you.”
From what I have read, Mr. Wales seems quite apt in attending to special interests and granting himself raises. He does not, however, attend to the matters for which he was elected, those of his constituency. I find it very disturbing that the city would damage personal property and not make amends by seeing that it was repaired. To have a councilman that ignores correspondence from his constituency is more disturbing.
Sincerely,
Ron Wray

Legislature not looking out for Limestone
Dear Editor:
Well, now that our local and legislative representatives have let their constituents down again, maybe it is time for Limestone citizens to stand up and be heard. I say vote them all out the next time they ask for your votes. Limestone County might as well go ahead and give the city of Madison and Madison County all of the property east of Interstate 65. Looks as if they are going to get it anyway and might as well write off south Limestone County to Decatur and rock quarry companies like the Rogers Group. Our local governing body does not care what happens to us. If they did, they would have tried to do something years ago when the first annexations occurred by Decatur.
