Obama critic on target

Dear Editor:

I would like to congratulate Joyce Conner on her outstanding letter to the editor in last Sunday’s paper. She was right on target.

In addition to the things she mentioned, Obama has promised to “bankrupt the coal companies,” which provide 40 percent of the nation’s electricity. He has single-handedly stopped the Keystone pipeline and offshore drilling, which would generate thousands of jobs and lower the cost of gasoline. He has wasted billions of dollars on funding wind and solar energy projects that go bankrupt. Not only has he added millions to the welfare rolls, he has also introduced dozens of companies to government handouts.

Now he is proposing new regulations to keep private companies from losing their own money. Apparently it is okay to waste taxpayer money. Now, companies (that donate to the Obama campaign) are rewarded by a bailout when they fail, while others (who don’t donate to him) are punished for succeeding.

He is doing the same thing with individuals. If you make poor choices and get in financial trouble, Obama will give you money. If you work hard and make money, Obama will call you greedy and ask you to “pay your fair share.” He forgets that the “greedy” people are the ones who would create jobs if they were not afraid of Obama’s policies.

Maybe the worst thing he has done is trying to divide the country into groups that are at war with each other. He is supposed to be the president of all the people, not just minorities, union members, the “poor,” women or gays. Mr. President, please stop dividing us by race, class, gender and sexual orientation.

Can’t afford Democrats

Dear Editor:

Obama keeps talking about “redistributing the wealth.” Most of the nation’s citizenry are not wealthy. Obama is really saying that he wants to redistribute what’s left of the working taxpayer’s earnings to those who don’t want to work.  He is not only liberal, but socialistic.

We have second and third generation career welfare families. The Huntsville Times recently wrote an article about a grandmother, daughter, and granddaughter, that all went into public housing at age 15, with their first illegitimate child, and remain in public housing to this day. Computerized public birth and welfare records can determine these career welfare recipients. After two consecutive generations of freeloaders, we should refuse further welfare to those next families and require completion of public schooling (diploma). No more working citizens paying the freight for those unwilling to get an education and earn an income.

Success can be achieved, by anyone, by taking advantage of opportunity.  Education is an opportunity that can be the basis for success. We provide a public education if you are willing to put forth the effort to attend and pass the courses to achieve a diploma.  Additional schooling is available through scholarships, $5,900 annual Pell grants for low-income students, student loans, and the old standby of working while attending any advanced schooling. It’s all possible if a person is willing to put forth the effort.  Why should hardworking citizens, including single mothers not on welfare, work two and three jobs to provide for their families while others sit in front of the TV and wait for the taxpayers’ check and benefits to pay their way?

We can’t afford any more of the liberal, socialistic, policies of the Obama Democrats.  They’re bankrupting our nation and destroying hardworking families. Our military veterans did not volunteer to serve, sacrifice, and possibly die, to preserve the socialist philosophies of the United Nations and Marx and Lenin. I didn’t!  Defeat Obamaism and its adherents.

This Memorial Day celebrates the memory of our war dead.  Don’t let their efforts have been in vain.
